Letter to Canada's Prime Minister Harper

This letter was sent anonymously, but it deserves some more attention. By the way, the economics expressed here are probably applicable in your part of the world.

Dear Prime Minister Harper and Team,

Please find below my suggestion for fixing Canada 's economy. Instead of giving billions of tax dollars to banks, cities, provinces and automobile companies that will squander the money on lavish parties and unearned bonuses, please consider implementing the following plan:

There are about 20 million people over 50 in the work force, unemployed or retired. Pay them $1 million each in severance for early retirement with the following stipulations:
  1. They MUST retire.
Twenty million job openings - Unemployment fixed.
  2. They MUST buy a new manufactured in Canada car.
Twenty million cars ordered - Auto Industry fixed.
  3. They MUST either buy a house or pay off their mortgage.
    Housing Crisis fixed.
  4. They MUST send their kids to school / college /university.
    Crime rate fixed.
  5. They MUST purchase $50 of alcohol / tobacco / gasoline a week.
There's your $20 million back in duties and taxes.

It can't get any easier than that!

Yours sincerly,
A taxpayer with only one pocket

P.S. If more money is needed, have all members of parliament, provincial legislatures, crown corporations, government consultants, city councils, boards of education, healthcare bodies and legal monopolies pay back their falsely claimed expenses and second home allowances.
